Zip A Dee Doo Dah collects vintage pop versions of Disney songs like "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes" and "Uncle Remus Said." Dinah Shore 's "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo," Paula Kelly 's "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah," Kate Smith 's "When You Wish Upon a Star," and the Paulette Sisters' "Never Smile at a Crocodile" are among the album's highlights.

"Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" is a song composed by Allie Wrubel with lyrics by Ray Gilbert for the Disney live action and animated movie Song of the South, sung by James Baskett. For "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah", the film won the Academy Award for Best Original Song and was the second Disney song to win this award, after "When You Wish upon a Star" from Pinocchio ().
